I came to Australia with my family when I was 4 years old. At first we lived in a St. Kilda flat. I was able to study Grade Prep in St. Colman’s Primary School. I continued to study in St. Kilda in Grade 1 and the beginning of Grade 2. Then we decided to move to a Clayton house. A south eastern suburb in the state of Victoria. I’m not really sure if I want to hold too many memories of my past since I didn’t keep in contact with most people. Lucky if I even find people on FaceBook. I don’t mind adding people as friends that I knew many years ago. I accidentally removed some people and no way of adding them back because they keep their profiles private. Now that really sucks!

I became an Australian citizen in 1992 and so did the rest of my family. I was originally from Philippines and born in Manila. Many things have changed since coming to Australia. I graduated elementary school in St. Peter’s Primary School. I then continued secondary school in Salesian College, Chadstone. Completing my VCE in 2001 and entering University the following year. I can’t believe how many years the Australian school system makes students study. I also worked for over 5 years as a service assistant at a supermarket. Spent a few years as a Herbalife Distributor and looking for other jobs. Even got myself a full car license, but rarely drive. I still prefer just catching public transport.

I wouldn’t exactly call myself healthy. I’ve had a history of bad sleeping patterns and vomiting. Not something I’m proud of. Some people say it was stress. I may have been depressed also in high school. I think the balance between the subjects I was studying were off. I pushed myself into doing chemistry, physics, math methods, specialist maths, and solo performance in music. English was compulsory so that was something I had to bite into. My father didn’t really support my music career. He would rather I was a doctor or someone to be considered an expert. That’s what has left me astray.

My parents are always worried what they should tell the relatives about me. I just want to be happy. Studying all these years has been a valuable experience. Meeting different people and just learning new things. I first went to RMIT University to study Bachelor of Food Science and Technology in the City campus. Their course was run by the faculty of applied sciences. I then transferred to Monash University to study Bachelor of Science in the Clayton campus. Their course was run by the faculty of science. I joined the Monash University Philharmonic Society so I could play the clarinet with an audience. It was fun for a while, but I found it more convenient to play solo. This leads to where I am now.
